My every-day make up bag & update

Yet another post starting with an apology for being a rubbish blogger - sorry! I've had so much school work recently, if you follow me on twitter you'll have seen me moaning about the millions of history essays and reports I've been set - love it... Along with that it's the time of year when everyone who is getting ready to apply for university has to fill in their UCAS applications or, if you're like me and totally forgot about it (doss!), then it's the time of year when you go into blind panic about what you're going to do with your life when all the uni's realise that you'd forget your own head if it wasn't screwed on!
The most recent social event has been the S6 social which was interesting to say the least... I spent the night looking after my poorly (through alcohol, don't give too much sympathy!) friend so I didn't have to worry about my picture being in the cringiest album EVER on facebook - oh.my.god. it's the worst thing I've ever seen in my life, although quite funny for me because I'm not in it;)

Tomorrow I'm going to my friend's fundraising ceilidh - she's going on a gap year to Guyana! I bought a new dress today although lace sleeves + someone as clumsy as me = disaster, I've ripped it already! Hopefully it will be okay though:( I'll try and do a FOTD/OOTD before I leave although I don't have my memory card at the moment so I'll try and use my mum's!

Okay, I've probably bored you to death with that ramble, which by the look of it talks about a lot... it actually only covers about 3 points... oh well!
On to the actual substance of this post - what's in my every-day make up bag?
The bag that I use is actually something I got for my birthday which contained shower gel and a body scrub/sponge thing. It's from Elle MacPherson's 'The Body' collection and is the perfect size to fit all the make up I use on a daily basis.

Eyes/face: As always, I use No7 Triple Protection tinted moisturiser in fair. It's fab, I absolutely love this and would definitely recommend it if you have okay skin and just want a light/medium coverage.
For concealer I use Benefit's Erase Paste on any blemishes and Collection 2000's concealer under my eyes and on any red areas that I'm particularly bothered about. The colour's for both these products are 1 Fair.
My eye makeup is always pretty simple, and it's been the same for the past two years - I got a compliment on it yesterday though which keeps me believing that it's not getting old! I use Rimmel's Exaggerate liquid liner to create a winged line and then Collection 2000's brown pencil liner just under my bottom lashes. To define my eye a bit more I use a black kohl pencil by Rimmel - I'm not sure on the name as it's rubbed off!
My lovely lovely lovely mascara is No7 Intense Volume! I'm sure you've read me rambling about this before but it's just grrrreat! Honestly, all the No7 mascaras I've tried have been really good, so if you've not tried one and aren't too sure about the £12 price tag, use a £5 voucher and trust me - you'll love it!

Lips: I don't wear lipstick during the week unless I'm out at night, because it's not really the 'done thing' at my school. I really like the toffee Fat Balm by Eyeko - it's a really nice neutral colour that just warms up the rest of your complexion.
I bought Revlon's Va Va Violet for a fancy dress party I was going to dressed as a punk! I've discovered that if I dab it on lightly it makes a gorgeous berry colour, not purple in the slightest (although the swatch below is probably the worst example I could have given, sorry!)
No3 by Kate Moss for Rimmel London (mouthful?!?!) isn't my favourite shade to wear, but it's nice if I want that feeling that I've made an effort by wearing lipstick, without it obviously looking like I'm wearing any.. just read that mack and it makes NO sense what so ever! If you understand what I mean let me know, hahaha!
MAC Fanfare is fab. Read my post on it here.

Below are swatches of the lipsticks mentioned.

Again, sorry for being to rubbish with keeping up with my blog recently! As ever I'll end by saying that I'm going to keep a steady flow of posts from now on but if I'm 100% honest I don't know if that's going to work.. I have NABs, essays, tests, etc coming up but I WILL try! I promise!

Have you used any of these products? Any nights out where you've been the baby sitter?!;)
Evie x

  1. School should come first! I don't get on with no.7 products, but I love Erase Paste and the Kate lipsticks have impressed me! Lovely post!
